Pacific Bell Internet Services jumped into the contentious music-downloading fray late Wednesday, filing a lawsuit against the recording industry and questioning the constitutionality of the industry’s effort to track down online music sharers.
In a complaint filed with the U.S. District Court in San Francisco, Internet service provider PBIS, operated by San Antonio-based SBC, alleges that many of the subpoenas served against it by the Recording Industry Association of America were done so improperly.

Anti-spam activists have upped the ante in their fight against junk email by publishing the details - including credit card information - of people who’ve ordered spamming services online.
Activists published details from order forms left on a monumentally insecure spam services Web site (http://202.63.201.239), run by notorious American spammer Robert Soloway, on the newsgroup news.admin.net-abuse.email (NANAE). Names, addresses, phone numbers of seven “would-be spammers” were published on the newsgroup last week. Three of those who ordered a $129 spam run or bulk mailing lists from the site come from the UK, three from the US and one from Germany.
A series described as ”Sesame Street for adults” gets a wide release next month on PBS stations nationwide. Literacy advocates hope it will reach a few of the estimated 90 million grown-ups who, though solid on their ABCs and 1-2-3s, could use a little help with W-2s and GEDs.
