So there’s been much exciting fanboy spooging all over the place about the Apple iPhone, along with lots of complaints about price, storage, exclusivity, battery life, closed platform, what have you. What I find interesting is that basically nobody’s talking about the really exciting phone that’s already out (in Singapore), the Nokia N95.

I’m going to hit the “more” tag, since this is off topic in all regards.
Dear Mr. Bruckheimer,
I was very excited to watch the first CSI: Miami epsiode since November last week, but do I despise the split screening you keep using in the series. The second half of last season and all of this season has been filled with annoying useless split screening. Do you have to use it in every episode? It doesn’t add to the quality of the show. It’s like that annoying guy on “Top Chef” who sticks a foam on everyone of his dishes. WHY does it have to be there?
If you have to do it, please contact the Powerpuff Girls. I was watching the Powerpuff Girls Christmas movie this Holiday Season with the husband and they did split screening. We turned to each other and said, “Hey that was cool.” So apparenlty it is a great technique when used appropriately.
So tonight I will record CSI:Miami. I hope I’m not annoyed when I watch it this weekend, but the Magic Eight Ball says to be prepared to fastforward through it.
Best Regards
Adrienne
From Metafilter:
What’s the most difficult piano piece? Opinions vary. Is it La Campanella, written by Liszt to show off what only he could do? (performance, score) Is it Balakirev’s Islamey, which even Balakirev struggled to play? (performance, score) Or Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit, written to top Islamey? (performance, score) Does Godowsky double his points by reconfiguring the already-difficult Chopin for the left hand? (performance) And if someone plays all four hours of Sorabji’s Opus Clavicembalisticum, written across four staves to fit the extra notes, will anyone listen? (perfomance excerpts, score excerpts)

From the 21st to the 26th of December, the horrible puking virus went through my house. For Q, it was over in 12 hrs. For Four, he threw up every hr the first 12 hrs and than moved to throwing up every 24 hrs for four days. Four ended up in a pediatric ER in NJ on Christmas Eve for an IV for dehydration. I had a great experince at the Hospital. Four got great treatment in very child friendly surroundings and we didn’t have to have Christmas morning in the Hospital. We were released in 4-5 hours. We didn’t even sit down in the waiting room - we got taken right back. I am going to write them a letter saying how grea the Dr and Nurses were.
Well, this week Four got a letter from the hospital asking him to take as survey. Yes, Four who is 27 months old. No where on the survey does it say for the parent to fill it out if the patient is under X years.
So, do I fill it out or do I let Four fill it out in crayon? I could even let him use a glue stick and put googly eyes on it. That’s his preferred media.
What do you guys think?
I liked k5’s Assholes of the Year post enough to not only link it on Jason’s site but also put it here.
I’ll have to addend Virgil Goode to the list.
I think that this really cool check that M. found in the site below belongs to Randall Munroe of xkcd.
