I was reading MiFi earlier and saw a post about a fun exchange (story/email) between an Army recruiter and a gay black man. Among all the humor, name calling, and general ignorance, the recruiter says:
YOU SHOULD SAY THANK YOU MILITARY PEOPLE FOR WHAT YOU DO SO THAT YOU CAN LIVE A FREE LIFE IN THE COUNTRY. FREEDOM IS NOT FREE. THE US MILITARY GIVE YOU THAT FREEDOM OF SPEECH SO THAT YOU CAN SEND EMAILS LIKE THIS ONE TO US.

Surely the freedom is given by the US Constitution. But, getting this backwards does explain an awful lot about the US MILITARY.

Actually, it’s given by Providence and inherent to humanity. The Constitution protects it from infringement.

Tommy Chong has a videoblog.

So, I’d been interested in what the new Beryl visuals could do for the linux workstation - but didn’t really enjoy all the mucking around trying to get them working. When I saw that Sabayon Linux was out and saw some of the things that it could do - I thought that I’d give it a try.

A couple people have said “Why do you want to choke down a linux workstation/laptop with all that silly GUI eye-candy” but I’m kind of the opinion that something like a Core 2 Duo processor with ample memory should be able to handle that stuff. Either that, or it’s not written well. After all - Vista manages to pull off it’s Aero tricks without any noticeable lag on this platform.

I was just wondering, this morning - if anything ever happened to the House of Cosbys and whether anybody like EFF might actually help to fight the evil powers that canceled the show.

First there were little ads in the corner of the screen for stuff when you watched a show.  Than little banner ads along the bottom.  Than that annoying dog barking at you for Anna Nicole’s show when you watched E!  Now when you watch VH1, there is an ad that blocks half the screen.  CUT IT OUT folks.  I’ve had it.  Remember when you used to watch TV and there was no station logo in the bottom right hand corner?  Think back folks….. you can do it.  Now that logo blocks captioning.  You think they would know to shift the text left… but wait that would be blocked by an ad……

Come on Evil Bastard…. I need you to rant here on socialism, communism, and somethingism….  But wait you probably have the PBS Sprout Kids logo burned in the bottom right of your TV right about now
