Did the Illustrator go to Jail instead of the Zoo?
While reading the Gremlins a bedtime story tonight, I happen to read the dedication from the Illustartor:
For Mary Beth Grand Juror #23, Supreme Court, State of New York, Special Narcotics - N.W.P.
Definitely not the dedication you would expect in Our Class Took a Trip to the Zoo. Things that make you wonder….

Maybe “zoo” is a just a metaphor for jail here. From the plot synopsis, looks like it’s about a boy who goes to the zoo where all of these unlucky things happen.
Guess that makes a better kid’s book than a story about someone getting sent to County where they get beaten up by their cell mate.
