In Vegas

I’m in Vegas this week with Jason – we’re both working the booth for security products at the Tele-Next conference in the Mandalay Bay hotel.

After our first day of standing up and talking for ten hours, we headed over to Quark’s Bar which was fun – even thought we got there after Quark had left and Jason tried to pick a fight with a Klingon by asking him if he actually spoke Klingon. We think he said “Hab SoSlI’ Quch!” back at us but we’re not sure.

Then it was off to House of Blues where Jason made me join him on stage for a karaoke version of Jump Around.

Whew, that was a night. Fly back tomorrow evening – Vegas to LAX to IAD arriving at midnight – bleh.

Vegas is fun. My wife and I took our honeymoon there a few years ago and stayed at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay (this is an adjoing part of the casino that’s all suites). If you get a chance and haven’t checked it out yet, the Shark aquarium is pretty nice.

Yea, I wanted to go to the Shark reef, but it always had long lines to get in. Gah – of course on the way back the flight was late, missed the connector, spend 10 hours in LAX and got back at 5:00am.

    Adventures in travel.

Personal opinion: The shark reef at Mandalay is better than the Seattle Aquarium (even though the Seattle one has sea lions).
Flying west to east is always a bitch, delays make it worse, but I’ve run into fewer overall delays up and down the west coast than I did when I have to travel the Eastern seaboard.
