Great lines in movies and life

I happened to be watching some useless channel that was showing ‘Billy Madison‘ on TV tonight.

It was at the point where Billy’s in the contest for ownership of his father’s company and he’s been asked to explain ‘The Impact of the Industrial Revolution on Literature, citing specific examples”. The great part is where it all goes into slow motion and the camera pans to people cheering and Adam Sandler has the mike in his hand and is wrapping up some ‘lost little puppy’ explanation .. when the contest moderator says:

“Mr. Madison, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I’ve ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response was there anything that could even be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.”

Which reminded me of this paragraph being quoted in court.

And that’s about the best use of a movie quote ever. If I ever have the opportunity to use this at my job.. it’ll be a fulfilling experience.
